So, you have hired a cleaning service to clean your home... What next?

Here are a few tips to get the most of your service.

Give them access!

If you are not going to be home when your cleaning technician comes, make sure they have a way to get in. It can be with a spare key, key code access, garage door opener or any other way that you and the technician are comfortable with. The last thing you want is to be in an important meeting and get a call that your technician cannot get into your home and they must leave. Without access, your appointment may have to be rescheduled, and depending on how busy they are, it may not be for the same week.

Clean up your clutter!

Your cleaning technician will make sure that your home is as good as new, but only if they can do what they are there for. The more time your cleaning technician spends picking up clutter, the less time they have to work on the detailed cleaning you hired them for. Daily chores such as dirty dishes, clothes on the floor, and items cluttering counter tops will decrease the amount of time your technician has to focus on the more detailed cleaning that you expect from a professional service. Prepping your home with these few tips prior to your technician arriving, allows your technician to focus on the more in depth cleaning you hired them for.

Area of focus!

Do you have a room that gets used a lot and needs extra attention? Have a room that does not get used and needs minimal cleaning like a guest room? Let your cleaning technician know. If they know in advance where they need to focus, they can be more effective in their cleaning. Communicating with your cleaning technician puts you both on the same page for what the expected outcome of your cleaning service provides.

These are just a few tips to help you get ready for your new service. Congratulations on deciding to do a little self care by letting the professionals clean your home. Now go relax!
